Georgie enjoyed a successful career as a special education teacher, later accepting a prestigious job as the principal for all five New York City’s special schools for the language and hearing impaired. From her early years Georgie loved travel, and had vacationed five times in Europe even before meeting Reza. They were married in 1965. Georgie was warmly accepted by Reza’s Persian family, and the couple frequently returned to Iran for joyful family visits in the years that followed.
As a spiritual person, Georgie was deeply committed to her Roman Catholic faith and heritage. This included a personal commitment to support the objectives of the Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalam. 
From their earliest years together, Georgie fully shared and supported Reza’s medical career, and mirrored his altruistic spirit and personal energy. As his medical assistant she became his favorite colleague, aiding patients with her personal help and promoting Reza’s associations with other health care professionals. He attributes much of his career success to her wisdom and unfailing support. Reza and Georgie also knew how to play as well as how to work. As lifelong fans of Duplicate Contract Bridge they worked energetically to promote the game, sponsoring Bridge clubs and working with Jumpstart Bridge to promote youth bridge locally and all across America. They were happy tourists and sports enthusiasts who loved to travel, and who loved boating, golf and the theater. And they were generous to friends, family and their community. 
Georgie was the primary reason for Reza’s early initial interest in learning and playing Duplicate Bridge. She and Reza were both game directors, and Georgie was very active in the creation of South Florida’s Khatib Bridge and Education Center. She joined with Reza in developing and sponsoring numerous tournaments and youth bridge activities in New York and South Florida . After their enjoyable years of world travel and happy retirement in South Florida, Georgie passed away peacefully at home in 2022. She is greatly missed by her community and her Bridge friends, and her extended families on both sides of the Atlantic. Georgie was a woman of deep spiritual commitment, and she joined with Reza to promote religious understanding among people of all faiths. She was largely responsible for the project endowments made to St. Joseph’s University and the University of Mary Washington, projects which continue in their good work to this day.
